GUIDE · ACCESS AND OWNERSHIP
Give access.
Keep ownership.
A provider needs access to make changes and measure results. That access should be granted as a separate user you can remove, never by sharing your password or moving your domain.
THE RULE
Invite a user.
Never share a password.
Every major platform lets you invite another person or company as a user with limited rights. You stay the owner, you can see what they can do, and you can remove them in a minute. Sharing your own login gives away everything, including billing and the ability to lock you out.
PLATFORM BY PLATFORM
What to grant.
Grant the lowest level that lets the agreed work happen. Menu names change over time; the principle does not.
- 01
Google Search Console. Add the provider as a user under Settings, then Users and permissions. A Full user can see all data and request indexing; a Restricted user can only view. Keep yourself as the Owner.
- 02
Google Business Profile. Add the provider as a Manager, not an Owner. Managers can edit the profile; owners can remove other people and transfer the profile.
- 03
Your website platform. On WordPress, create a separate account for the provider rather than sharing yours, with the lowest role that allows the agreed work. Shopify supports collaborator accounts with chosen permissions. Other builders have similar roles for editors or contributors.
- 04
Analytics. In Google Analytics, add the provider as a user at the property level with a role that fits the work, and keep administrator rights yourself.
- 05
Domain and hosting. Keep the domain registered in your own name and account. If DNS changes are needed, make them yourself or grant temporary, limited access, then remove it.
WHEN THE WORK ENDS
Remove access
the same day.
When a project or subscription ends, remove the provider from each platform and check that you remain the owner everywhere. Ask for a list of what they changed so the next person can carry on.
HOW TENDOU US WORKS
Collaborator access,
withdrawable any time.
Tendou US asks you to invite [email protected] to the accounts needed for the agreed work: for example as a Full user on your Search Console property. You keep ownership of your website, domain, hosting and Google accounts, and Tendou never asks for passwords or verification codes. What the subscription does.
PUBLISHED CLIENT RECORDS
Evidence from other markets.
Tendou has published dated client records from separate Singapore and Malaysia engagements. They are not outcomes of a Tendou US subscription and not a forecast for your business. Each record keeps its own question, platform, date and limits.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Access and ownership.
Should I give my SEO provider my website password?
No. Create a separate user account for the provider with only the rights the work needs, so you can remove it without changing your own login.
Can a provider take over my Google Business Profile?
Only if they are made an owner. Add providers as Managers and keep the primary owner role yourself.
Who should own my domain?
Your business, in an account you control. A provider never needs to own your domain to improve your search visibility.
